If you require vaccinations for travel please make a 15-minute consultation to see the practice nurse at least 4 weeks before travel if possible. During the consultation the nurse will research the most current recommendations for the countries you intend to visit and have the relevant vaccines available for your consultation. Prior to your consultation we do recommend that you visit the website: www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk
Please note that whilst most of the vaccines for travel are covered within the scope of NHS services, some do attract either a charge or private prescription e.g. Hepatitis B and Malaria.
Should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Travel Vaccines - Non NHS Services
Please note that this page is for general information. Not all travellers will require Hep B, Malaria or Yellow Fever.
Hepatitis B
Course of three vaccinations - £42 x 3 Total cost £126.00
If in aid of charity we will need proof but the fee will be £84 for the course
Hepatitis B Booster £40
Malaria
Private Prescription £18.00
This does NOT include the cost of the tablets, which is paid directly to the dispensing pharmacist.
We need to know your exact destination and plans for travel to be able to assess your need for malaria prophylaxis. Different areas require different tablets or mosquito bite prevention dependent on the length of stay and specific travel plans.
Some malaria tablets are bought directly from a chemist, others need to be prescribed privately and then bought from the pharmacy. The nurse will discuss this further with you at your consultation.
We do not offer Yellow Fever, Japanese Encephalitis, Rabies or Meningitis ACWY vaccines privately. If these are needed you will need to contact a specialist travel clinic.
Please note
Payment for both vaccines and private prescriptions should be made at the time of administration. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or credit card. A receipt will be issued.
Thank You.
